The Oscars
Hollywood needs an entire week to prepare for
the Academy Awards. I love seeing the behind
the scenes action just as much as the awards
show itself.
So, I thought I would go down again this year
and photo document the Oscar preparations and
share them.
EARLY IN THE WEEK
An image from above.
Lights, Cameras and other equipment will be
going inside of this tented platform.
This overpass catwalk will be filled with media
including fashion guru’s who will be commenting
on arrivals and their fashion choices.
Another shot of the platform/catwalk
These are the bleachers where the fans will be
seated who were lucky to get tickets to watch
the red carpet arrivals.
This is the movie star prep. tent, darling. = )
[That’s what I was told]
DAY BEFORE THE OSCARS: March 6, 2010
This is the corner of Hollywood and Highland.
Everything is coming together.
A close up of the 2010 Oscar Poster. This year
the Oscars will be hosted by Steve Martin and
Alec Baldwin
Poor Oscar can’t get wet. It’s been raining here in LA.
Entrance to the Kodak Theatre.
Lets go inside.
Inside of the Kodak Theatre. These two Oscar
statues greet the stars after they have taken
their walk on the red carpet.
In the lobby of the Kodak Theatre. An Oscar statue surrounded by fresh flowers.
Leaving the Kodak Theatre to check out how the
preperations are coming along for the red carpet.
Another wide shot. See the movie star prep.
tent from earlier in the week?
Lets get closer to the preperations.

Here are a couple of shots of the overpass/catwalk
from ground level. It’s tented and many of the
media outlets are getting situated.
Leaving now, but before I go, one more shot.
And lets not forget the camera crew on the roof of Ripley’s.
That’s about it. I hope that you enjoyed the behind
the scenes look at what it takes to put the ceremony
together. When you watch tomorrow you will see how
beautifully it all came together.
Enjoy the show!
That was awesome!!! We didn’t get to see the inside of the Kodak Theatre when we were there this summer, so I’m glad I finally got to see it.
Thank you so much Susan! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Outstanding tour of the Oscar preparations Theresa!! It’s the next best thing to being there. Thank you so much for taking us along!
Thank you so much Rose!
Love these!! Makes me want to be there even more. So cool that you actually got to go inside of the Kodak. Thanks for sharing Theresa
Thank you so much Tiffany! It was a lot of fun and those good vibes kept the rain away.
That must’ve been so exciting, being there! Thanks for these wonderful photos, Theresa!
Thank you so much Martha! It was a lot of fun.
Fantastic photos! WOW!
I grew up right there and it’s all so different now if you didn’t point out what was what and where, I wouldn’t even recognize it.
I thought the Oscars were ALWAYS at the Shrine Auditorium.
Do I get out much? hahahaha
Great job and it must have been a blast being there to see it in the raw.
